The Great Thoughts team offers this:
Last weekend, defying the weather, we flew to New York City for a grown up weekend without the kids. The occasion was a client’s 50th birthday bash, but what a great excuse to go to one of our favorite cities. It was cold but oh so fun to get away! The snow on the ground was the perfect backdrop for an already beautiful city.
For the first time we stayed at The London NYC located at 151 West 54th Street in Midtown. We have stayed at many hotels in Manhattan, and this is one of my favorites! It is in close proximity to Central Park, Fifth Avenue shops and Broadway theaters. One of the best things about the hotel was the very large rooms. We stayed in a London Suite that had a separate parlor area with parquet floors and French doors separating the bedroom from the parlor. The furnishings were very attractive and contemporary. I really enjoyed just spending time in the room!! Check it out http://www.thelondonnyc.com/
Chef Gordon Ramsey has a restaurant in the hotel. We did not eat there, but I heard and read that it is quite good.
We did quite a bit of walking all over the city, but one of the highlights of the trip for me was going to Chelsea Market located at 75 9th Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets. It is a foodie’s heaven with many food stores and restaurants in the restored National Biscuit Company building. One of the other reasons that I loved it is that Chelsea Market also houses the Food Network studios. It was a special treat for me!! http://www.chelseamarket.com/
We loved our dinner at I Trulli, 122 E. 27th Street, a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant that has been in operation since 1994. You won’t be disappointed! It is quaint and has great food- the authentic New York Italian experience… http://www.itrulli.com/
Our winter getaway to NYC was a big hit! Fewer crowds and very great hotel rates! Grab a coat and hit the city!
What are you reading and where are you going?

We love Chelsea Markets!!! It is romantic in its own sort of hollywood kinda way
Oh, what fun! I adore New York and can’t wait to return in May. I’ve never been to Chelsea Market, but I think it’s high-time I checked it out!
Sounds fabulous! Next time I’m in New York I’m staying at The London NYC! What a beautiful hotel!

Andrea, I’m glad you enjoyed New York! I love the city – and not just because I live there, it has a great vibe, and there are many opportunities to pamper and spoil yourself
