Jennifer Weiner is one of my FAVORITE authors. She writes Upper Chick Lit (my own term). Her books are quick reads with amazing character detail from the first page on. In Her Shoes was not only a fabulous book but such a great movie.
Today, Jennifer Weiner’s Fly Away Home comes out in paperback. It is loosely based on the story of Silda and Eliot Spitzer. Sylvie Serfer Woodruff is literally shell shocked when the press exposes her Senator husband for having an affair with a young staffer. She does the Hilary, Silda thing and stands by her man and the requisite press conference. She then runs away to a family home in Connecticut to regroup. Both of her grown daughters join us. They too are at critical life moments.
As always, Weiner does a masterful job of showing the resilience of strong women. Also, the book portrays three women at different life stages all in different crises. While we have seen this story played out in the press numerous times, Weiner makes it seem fresh and creates a page turner.
Another great Jennifer Weiner book!
What are you reading and where are you going?

Upper chick Lit – I love it – its the perfect phrase for that sub genre.
Glad to hear this is another winner from Weiner.
