Happy Mothers Day! I hope it is a wonderful day for all!
I recently had the great privilege of reading Exposure: A Novel, the new book by Therese Fowler. It came out on May 3rd. RUSH to read this book! It is my favorite book of 2011 and is a gripping page-turner. Great Thoughts is part of a blog tour for Exposure on May 19th so I can’t post my review of Exposure until then (darn it). For now, run and buy the book!!! Here’s an article from USA Today about it.
I finished Exposure and then did two things. First, I immediately contacted the author, Therese Fowler, to tell her I had to have Exposure as the July pick for the SITS book club which I run. Next, I purchased Reunion: A Novel, the other Fowler book I had not read.
Reunion: A Novel is a good read. It is the story of an Oprah like TV star, Blue, who reunites with a high school boyfriend, Mitch, while filming in Key West, Florida. This is a great summer book- I would have preferred it by a pool with a fluffy drink next to me but alas, that didn’t happen. Blue agrees to help Mitch and his 32 year old son produce a documentary series. A side theme to the book is Blue’s search for a child she gave up for adoption years before.
Like in Exposure, Fowler’s writing is so descriptive:
“The night after he’d split with Blue he’d gone home and watched Casablanca on tape, consoling himself with assurances that he, like Rick, had made a noble sacrifice for the benefit of a good woman.”
“If only there were glasses for hindsight.”
“It’s a gorgeous day. Get out of this house. Do something. Live. Honestly, it’s like you’re waiting for an engraved invitation from G-d and let me tell you, it’s not going to come.”
You will love Exposure and Reunion.
What are you reading and where are you going?

The books sound great. I’m reading Rapture by Liz Jensen.
I’ll look forward to reading your review of Exposure on 19th.
