Introducing the star book reviewer of the day- 10 year old daughter Sophie:
The Doll Shop Downstairs by Yona Zeldis McDonough is a GREAT BOOK!!!! It is great for ages 5-9.
This book is about Anna who is 9 years old and her family who owns a doll repair shop. Anna pretends that her doll is Bernade Louise, but it is actually not hers. It is another little girl’s. That little girl never picked up her doll so Anna is keeping it. But when the little girl picks her doll up from the repair shop……….
Enjoy!
What are you reading and where are you going?

WOW – that is one cliff-hanger review! I can’t wait to find out what happens! Great review!
Great review Sophie! I’m always looking for new books for my classroom library. I teach 4th grade and it sounds like some of my students would really enjoy The Doll Shop Downstairs. Have you read The Doll People? Several girls in my class read it this past school year. How about the Miraculous Journeys of Edward Tulane? Edward is a china rabbit and the story is about his many adventures. Some of it is a little sad, but it is really a wonderful story! That one is written by Kate Dicamillo…..and I LOVE it! Keep reading!!!
Loved your review! You made me want to know what happens next. My daughter loved The Meanest Doll in the World — and I think you might like it too!
Doll drama!! My girls would love that!
Thanks!
Can’t wait to hear what happens in The Doll Shop Downstairs. You have us holding our breaths, Miss Sophie!
