Great books abound lately! I love it! Here’s a sample of my recent reads:
1. The McCloud Home for Wayward Girls by Wendy Delsol- Don’t you love the title? This is a debut novel for Delsol and I look forward to her future books.
The book tells the story of three generations of women who run a bed and breakfast that used to be a home for unwed mothers. When the granddaughter begins to search for her father’s identity, family secrets begin to emerge.
This is a quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed!
Berkley Trade provided a review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
2. The Lost Wife by Alyson Richman- This book is another wonderful World War II tale. (I’m a bit obsessed with novels set in World War II lately.)
The book details the story of the reunion of a married couple sixty years later. They both think their spouse died in the Holocaust. Richman details the sixty years of separation in a love story that spans from Prague, Czechoslovakia during Nazi rule and then New York City.
This book is heart wrenching and lovely.

3. The Soldier’s Wife by Margaret Leroy- This book quickly became one of my favorites of the year. What a story! Set in the British Guernsey in the Channel Islands during World War II, this book is the story of a British woman and a German soldier who become lovers. Their love story is completely believable and you are truly convinced that neither want war and both are victims of their circumstances.
The writing is lyrical and you truly feels the hardships of war and the challenges this couple faced. A must read!
What are you reading and where are you going?

I so wish I had more time to read! When I finish my latest novel, I have a ginormous stack of books that I’m really eager to read. Have a lovely week, Andrea!
