Wildflower Hill by Kimberley Freeman is a great read. I noticed that this book was a top pick at Target and then came home and received it in the mail. I read it over Labor Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it! The book is very reminscent of a Penny Vicenzi, one of my favorite authors.
Emma is a prima ballerina in Londay who suffers a severe knee injury and a breakup with a long term love. She flies home to Australia to recoup and learns that her Grandmother Beattie left her a strange inheritance- a sheep farm in Tasmania.
Emma goes to Tasmania to nominally clean out the house, Wildflower Hill, to sell and quickly becomes embroiled in figuring out Grandma Beattie’s secrets.
The writing is so crisp- this sentence is repeated several times in the book and I just love it!
“There are two types of women in the world, Beattie, those who do things and those who have things done to them. Try to be the first type.”
Need I say more?
Simon & Schuster provided a review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
What are you reading and where are you going?

That sounds like a great read for a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Oh, this one does sound good, and when you compare the style to Penny Vincenzi’s, I’m there! Which reminds me that I have a nice fat one by her on my coffee table over there…waiting to be read.
Thanks for sharing.
