Oh what a show! I didn’t watch the first season of Downton Abbey when it was on last year. I first heard of it last summer. After downloading Episode 1 on my ipad last summer, I quickly watched the entire season in 4 days time (didn’t accomplish much else).

This is the modern version of Upstairs Downstairs with a host of WONDERFUL characters, both servant and and socialite. I am THRILLED that the new season starts tomorrow night, January 8th, on PBS. The amazing Maggie Smith plays the dowager countess with her usual biting tongue and sharp British humor- love her!
I highly recommend this show! It is a lovely reprieve from reality TV and silly sitcoms!
