Gayle King- My Carpool Friend

January 8, 2012 | by Great Thoughts | Great Thoughts | 1 Comment

Do you have Satellite radio in your car?  If so, you are probably addicted like I am. Once you have satellite radio, it’s hard to listen to anything else.   Big changes for me to adjust to- my beloved Gayle King radio show is no longer.  I used to listen to Gayle as I drove kids to school, while I worked out (yes I have XM Radio app on my phone) and every afternoon sitting in carpool line.

Gayle is bright and SO funny.  I have learned a zillion new music artists from her and laughed through every one of her diets and exercise foibles.  She is fair in her political reporting.  I love her parenting style and how her grown kids are a part of her everyday life.  Basically, she is so someone I could meet for dinner and have a blast.

While she will no longer be my carpool companion, she will now be hosting the CBS This Morning.  I haven’t really watched morning TV in years but with my friend Gayle on, I will be watching while I treadmill.  Once Katie Couric left morning TV, I gave up on morning shows.  If you haven’t listened to Gayle, I highly recommend watching the show- it starts tomorrow, Monday, January 9th.  I’m guessing that now I will be a morning TV person again!

What are you reading and where are you going?
