Suitable for Giving

I am a great fan of indie publishing and have the upmost of respect for authors who choose that path.  I was delighted when a member of my Twitterverse contacted me about her new book.  Jayne is a lovely friend who is uber smart and funny.  Her book reflects these qualities!

Suitable for Giving is a collection of essays reflecting Jayne’s opinions on everything from growing up Catholic to  politics.  You will laugh at loud at many of her stories.  And she tugs at your heart strings in other stories.

Regarding her mother, Jayne writes, “Had I known then that I would lose her only 12 short years later, I’d like to think I might not have been such a pain-in-the-ass about the whole thing.”

“I allow myself to need and to be vulnerable, to receive and let others give.  I realize that I’m not alone.  I never have been. ”

“It’s said that God tickles you with a feather and if you don’t listen He hits you with a brick.  Apparently, I was one of His tougher cases.”

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  It is a quick and easy read.  I especially loved that, since she never married, Jayne threw herself a huge party and went and bought a wow dress.  You will love reading Jayne’s thoughts.

What are you reading and where are you going?
