Despite the mild winter (at least where I am), I still miss the warm balmy days of Spring and Summer. Publishers have begun sending me “beach books” – that makes me excited for summer! (It’s going to be a great reading summer, by the way!)
So let’s have some fun today. Leave a comment and tell us where you wish you could go for summer vacation. It can be imaginary. So let’s say a 2 week paid vacation.
I’ll go first- I would like a large white house on the gulf shore of Florida that sits DIRECTLY on the beach. Now your turn- where are you going on your imaginary dream trip?

What are you reading and where are you going?

It’s a great day to dream about summer vacation. On my imaginary two week paid vacation, I’m going to cruise to Alaska. Then I’m going to take all the excursions to see the sites … glaciers, wildlife, tundra. I want to see it all.
It is cold and snowy here in CT today so this is perfect. I would head back to where me and my husband had our honeymoon, Grand Lido resort in Jamaica. We would bring the kids for a family trip, haven’t done that in over a year. I would just relax on the beach, eat incredible food, and enjoy beachy activities.
Only two weeks? I’m panicking because I’m not sure if that would be in England, Wales, Scotland, or France. Let’s pretend I would spin a wheel blindfolded and whatever it landed on, that’s where the plane would take me, but whichever place it landed on, I would spend it visiting castles, battlefields, and museums that house artifacts. I imagine myself at some castle that is either still standing or laying in rubble while I run my hands along the stones trying to somehow feel an inner connection to the people who once lived and died there. Or laying on the ground somewhere like Culloden, where many men bled and died, touching the grass and trying to hear whispers of their voices or catch glimpses of that horrible day. Can you tell my old soul cries for the medieval time period?
I would love an over water bungalow, perhaps in Bora Bora. They look charming and beautiful. What a wonderful imaginary vacation!
I would love to travel to Italy for some real Italian food, then head to Rome for some romance.
