Crossing on the Paris by Dana Gynther
I really enjoyed this book and long for the old elegance of sailing. From the publisher, “In 1921,the SS Paris leaves Le Havre on her maiden voyage. Aboard, passengers dine in glittering grandeur on French cuisine, served by hundreds of unnoticed servants and chefs. Below the waterline, the modern oil-fired engines throb day and night. And for three women, this voyage will profoundly change their lives.”
A few quotes:
“They had become a neaqrly silent family since the Great War, as if their losses had included their voices as well.”
“Looking at her parents, she wondered wether, without her there, they would ever speak again.”
Simon and Schuster provided a digital review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Both of these have caught my eye the later years ago but I just was not sure…you are tempting me all over again.
