This tends to be the time of year when the best new fiction books start to be published. I’m excited today to present two new fiction books by two of my all-time favorite authors.
Market Street by Anita Hughes
We first “met” Anita Hughes with the release of her first book, Monarch Beach, last summer. I then had the privilege of meeting Anita personally (at Monarch Beach) and we and our families became fast friends.
When I reviewed Monarch Beach, I said that Anita Hughes is the new Danielle Steel. I continue to think this and hope you will rush to read her books. Market Street comes out on March 26th but I encourage you to pre-order as you want this book on the 26th! I finished it in one sitting and was so sad when it ended. The mark of a great read!
Amongst Anita’s great qualities is the fact that she is the fastest fiction writer I have ever met. Thus, she has another book, Lake Como, coming out in August and has already written the sequel to Market Street.
From the publisher,
“Cassie Blake seems to lead a charmed life as the heiress to Fenton’s, San Francisco’s most exclusive department store. But when she discovers her husband, Aidan, a handsome UC Berkeley professor, has had an affair with a student, she flees to the comfort of her best friend Alexis’s Presidio Heights mansion, where she wonders if she should give their marriage one more chance.
Whether or not she can forgive Aidan is not the only choice Cassie has to make. Cassie’s mother is eager to have her oversee the opening of Fenton’s new Food Emporium, which Fenton’s hopes will become San Francisco’s hottest gourmet shopping destination. And then there is James, the architect designing the Emporium, who is quietly falling in love with her…”
A must- buy and must-read!
Family Pictures by Jane Green
Every time Jane Green publishes a new book, I think it cannot be better than the last. I love every one of her books. Family Pictures, which comes out TODAY, is another winner.
I love that she gets you into the story on page 1 so you are absolutely involved with the characters immediately. And her writing is simply perfect!
My favorite quote from the book, “How ironic that the woman I should be hating most in the world has become my only solace.”
From the publisher,”…the gripping story of two women who live on opposite coasts but whose lives are connected in ways they never could have imagined. Both women are wives and mothers to children who are about to leave the nest for school. They’re both in their forties and have husbands who travel more than either of them would like. They are both feeling an emptiness neither had expected. But when a shocking secret is exposed, their lives are blown apart. As dark truths from the past reveal themselves, will these two women be able to learn to forgive, for the sake of their children, if not for themselves?”
I don’t want to offer any spoilers because the story is too good and too riveting to spoil. I will simply say- rush to read!
