At long last, I now think that life may have calmed down to the point where I can focus on this blog and the greatthoughts.com concept. I am beyond thrilled to be going to a womens’ blogging conference in May. A weekend away ALONE and a conference about something I want to learn, all in a warm locale- what more could I ask for?
In terms of great thoughts this week, here goes:
1. I read a fabulous term this week- Mamarazzi. I immediately thought of the trendy Moms at our elementary school who look really cute at carpool pickup in Juicy sweats, Tory Burch sandals and big purses, holding Starbucks cups. This crowd are awesome women who volunteer constantly at the school and always bring great baked goods. I’m not a Mamarazzi (I don’t own a Juicy sweatsuit) but I just love the term.
2. In terms of books (you know I always get to books), I LOVED Not My Daughter by Barbara Delinsky. It is about a group of teen girls who take a pregnancy pact. Their mothers are good friends and one of the mothers is the principal of the high school. A two day read and so good!
Just finished The Weissmans of Westport by Cathleen Schine . I would rate it a B- not nearly as good as the reviews indicated. Also, I read Four Wives by Wendy Walker– a great book. Now, I just started Social Lives, also by Wendy Walker. Two chapters into it and I like it.
Please please leave comments of what great thoughts you have.
What are you reading and where are you going?
