When you are a child and you want your dreams to come true, you go to Disneyworld. When you are an adult,, you go to Las Ventanas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We just returned from our second trip to Las Ventanas and we are ready to go back again! Our first trip from last year is detailed here. As you can see, our trip from last year was amazing. Fortunately, our trip this year was even better.
When we arrived, we were greeted at the airport with, “Welcome Back!” at the resort by Mario, Nicolas and Hector as old friends. Our amazing butler, Milagros showed us to our room and expressed, “I am so happy you came back here to see us.” She was genuine, professional and downright darling. Milagros and I became best friends when she brought my coffee to my patio daily with a special muffin that she chose just for me. On our 16th anniversary, Milagros greeted me with the following, “I woke up today and was so happy that it was your anniversary.” In the resort’s edition of the New York Times, they added an ad wishing us a Happy Anniversary.
Thursday nights at Las Ventanas are extra special as there is a manager’s reception with lovely cocktails and hor d’oeuvres. Every member of the staff comes to the reception. It is a true testimony to the management here that most staff members have been at the property for over ten years. All are charming and could not make us feel more welcome. The margaritas are amazing too!
Later on Thursday nights, Las Ventanas hosts a Guayacura, a Mexican barbeque feast on the beach with an amazing Broadway quality mariachi show, including fire dancers and horses. Here is a short video clip of it
Perhaps the best feature at Las Ventanas is the sound of the waves of the Sea of Cortez. No sound machine could capture the sound of these waves. Simply perfection. The best sleep I’ve had!
We spent our few days by the pool and beach, watching the whales frolic right in front of us. Others go to Hawaii and pay a great deal of money to go on whale watching trips. For us, we just sit in our deck chair or hang out in the infinity pool and watch the whales. Peaceful!
The food at Las Ventanas is amazing, as you would expect. Check out my breakfast…
A few of my favorite things there- the amazing shrimp tacos for lunch, foaming margaritas, frozen grapes by the pool, Bulgari toiletries, beautiful glass hearts in every tree, amazing fresh fruit bowl in the room, telescope to watch the whales and the stars, the staff- have I mentioned how much we love, love, love the staff here!
And yes, you’ll get to read all about it again when I go back! We are so very impressed with Rosewood Hotels, the parent of Las Ventanas, that we can’t wait to try the Rosewood Mayakoba in Mexico as well.
Con amor!
What are you reading and where are you going?
i am SOLD!
I am beyond jealous. That sounds (and looks) amazing. I want to go!
This post makes me re-think my previous thoughts on visiting Mexico. It looks like a very, VERY nice place to stay.
🙂
Foaming margaritas? Count me in. I’ve been hearing about Las Ventanas for ages. You are so lucky to have gone there. I’ve only heard amazing things about it.
