You asked so here it is- Great Thoughts’ now has a reviewer for Young Adult and Romance Fiction.  Welcome Amber to the team!  We have had many requests for these genres so I am pleased to bring you our first two Young Adult/Romantic fiction reviews.  These books are quick reads and often are very inexpensive for Kindle and Nook.  Enjoy!

Torn by KA Robinson

This book, published January 15th, is a first book for the author, KA Robinson.  It is the beginning of a series which makes me very happy. The name gives a hint to the plot, but I never expected it to make me feel torn between the love triangle that came to be.

The author gives you a great idea of the friendship between Chloe and Logan from the beginning. Then, once Drake enters the picture and their easy going yet high temp flirty-ness starts, WATCH OUT! I mean who hasn’t dreamt of a hot, tattooed, pierced (lots of piercings wink, wink), self-proclaimed bad boy saving you?!?!  Saving you from what? Oh let’s throw a dark past, due to her mother, in there and see who is the knight in shinning armor is!

Totally love the cliffhanger ending because it only leaves you wanting more!

A few quotes:

“Are you serious right now? Of course I would give it up. Have you seen me with anyone lately? I’ve stopped it all, for you. I wish you would take me seriously, but obviously you’ve already decided what you think of me.”

“…there’s something different about you. I don’t know what it is, but it wants to make me change every bad thing about myself.”

“I guess these tattoos are wrong now.” He trailed his fingers down the side of my arm and I shivered. “Why do you say that?”

“Because they mean never loved. I think we took care of that problem for each other.”

Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

This is the newest book by bestselling author, Abbi Glines.  Let’s just say due to the cliffhanger of an ending, I am pining for the next installment!

The story begins as Blaire just lost her mother, is broke, and needs to find her estranged dad, because she thinks he is the only family she has now. With daddy out of the country, she has to rely on Rush, her spoiled stepbrother and a famous musicians’ son.  As Blaire soon finds her rhythm in her new life, new job, new home, she shows she can handle herself right off the bat but is not immune to feelings she has never had before when it comes to men.

“Maybe,” I replied, leaning forward. “But what little I have seen isn’t all bad. I am beginning to think there might just be another layer to you.”

As she and Rush’s relationship grows, and is put to the test by his sister and mother, the truth is finally told on why her father is estranged. Being completely broadsided by this news she is forced to go back to where her mother’s grave is and to where she truly feels like home.

“I took a deep breath then finally turned my head and looked into his blue eyes. Emotion battled past the numbness I was hugging close to me like a cloak. This was home. This was safe. This was all I knew.”

Rush of course not being able to handle his love for her anymore, follows Blaire and finally tells her what he thinks she needs and is surprised by her reaction….

“…Then I got to know you. I was hypnotized by your laugh. It was the most amazing sound I have ever heard. You were honest and determined. You didn’t complain or whine. You took what life handed you and worked with it. I wasn’t used to that. Every time I watched you, every time I was near you I fell more.”

What was her reaction… Never Too Far continues Blair and Rush’s story due out February 26, 2013.

What are you reading and where are you going?
